Safety Overview
Safety means:
- preserving the health and wellbeing of children, young people and other vulnerable people.
- protecting them from people and things that could hurt them.
- protecting them from abuse, neglect, violence, exploitation, grooming, bullying, discrimination, racism, harassment, physical or psychological harm, and preventable death.
- identifying risks and hazards and taking steps to eliminate or mitigate these risks and hazards.
- responding to all suspicions, incidents, disclosures and allegations that relate to the safety of children, young people and other vulnerable people.
Safety Quality & Care Legal Services is dedicated to supporting individuals and organisations to:
- identify, assess, manage, monitor and review risks to the health, safety and wellbeing of children, young people and other vulnerable people.
- employ and engage suitable employees, contractors and volunteers.
- develop, implement, monitor and review emergency management plans.
- manage specific incidents that have resulted in abuse, neglect, psychological or emotional harm, physical injury or death.
- respond to suspicions, disclosures and allegations that relate to the safety of children, young people and other vulnerable people.
- conduct investigations into reportable allegations, misconduct, unsatisfactory performance and other potential suitability issues.
- comply with reporting obligations and any associated regulatory actions.
